Unlike water, their low evaporation temperature allows Novec fluids to dry in a matter of seconds, which brings significant time and energy savings. Precision Cleaning
3M Novec specialty fluids offer a broad spectrum of thermophysical properties for various applications. Novec fluids are used in, for example, immersion-cooling systems for computers, thermal testing of electronic components, sublimation drying in pharmacology and cooling of military equipment.
Novec fluids intended for thermal management excel particularly due to their outstanding dielectric properties, wide boiling-point range, excellent compatibility with key materials, reliability, ease of use and very low toxicity. Application of Lubricants
3M Novec specialty fluids are able to dissolve many types of surface grease/lubricants including silicone, fluorocarbons, FTFE and heparin. These lubricants can thus be reliably applied to various surfaces such as metals, plastics and elastomers.
Lubricants dispersed with Novec liquids are effectively applied to hard disks, filters and PVC pipes, as well as to hypodermic needles, scalpel blades and blood bags.
Even coverage of the entire object is guaranteed by the low surface tension of Novec fluids.
Protective Surface Treatment
Novec products intended for protective surface treatment guarantee excellent resistance to moisture, adhesion, abrasion and corrosion of the material to which they are applied. Novec solvent is non-flammable, with very low toxicity and provides a great solution for today’s demanding electronic applications.

This surface-protection agent is easily applied and leaves a thin transparent film after drying.
Aerosol Cleaning Sprays
3M™ Novec™ aerosol cleaning agents
bring a new way to fulfil today’s requirements for precision cleaning. They combine fast, effective cleaning with significant worker safety and a favourable environmental profile. They offer an excellent alternative to cleaning agents based on HCFC 141b. They contain a more active solvent that produces a greater degree of cleaning per unit weight than that offered by many competing cleaners.
Properties of Novec aerosol cleaning sprays: non-flammable, low toxicity, harmless to the ozone layer, non-corrosive, fast drying, leave almost no residue, contain no HCFC, HFC, nPB or HAP.

Aerosol Cleaning Sprays
The unique Novec 1230 fire suppressant is used as part of automatic fire-extinguishing systems installed in telecommunication exchanges, data centres, power substations and server rooms.
The fire suppressant produces an inert, environmentally friendly, non-flammable gas that extinguishes fires with minimum corollary damage and damage to surrounding electrical equipment, and increases the safety of persons in the vicinity.
